Last blog from Costa Rica

Hola everyone,

This is the last blog we're going to do from Costa Rica as we head next to Canada on Sunday (hopefully, we are still not trusting anyone in airports yet!!).

I hope everyone is looking forward to the Royal wedding, which I think depending on where you are in the world will be happening today/tomorrow! Me and Kara are very excited! We both think it is well worth all the tax payers money going into the security and policing of such a monumental event, especially when most of the Royals don't seem to pay much tax themselves!

Anyways, enough of the ranting. Our last week has been fun, we went down to the Osa peninsula and were able to see loads more wildlife, in terms of Scarlet Macaws, frogs/toads up close (very close he was in our shower!) and seeing a very remote town of Costa Rica called Puerto Jimenez, which is surrounded by the Corcovado National Park. After that we have headed back to San Jose and are now in a wonderful hostel in a slightly 'posher' area of San Jose, called San Pedro/Yoses.

Just before leaving the Flutterby House, after Easter Sunday Kara had yet another frightening experience during the night (just before you think anything dirty, it had nothing to do with me...honest!). Kara heard a parrot being eaten by what we presume was a snake. The whole ordeal lasted around 30 mins and Kara could hear everything, bones crunching and snapping, ligaments pulling and the last sounds of the parrots desperates squarks!! I am so glad i did not hear it as I think I would have been psychologically scared by it. Kara is doing okay now ... though after quite a few more sleepless nights and my counselling help.

Anyways, I hope this finds everyone well and good. Please remember to watch the benefit fraudsters get married and hopefully our next blog will come from sunny but very cold Canada!

Lots of love,
John and Kara xxxx

'You may give a toad a wart, but a toad may not give a wart to you!'
Sorry a League of Gentleman quote, I'm obsessed.

Scarlet Macaw, in Puerto Jimenez, they are so colourful but sound
like a crow or a bird choking!

And here is a photo of a grumpy monkey for good measure!
